Highway 11/17, detail design Engineering for MacKenzie Auxiliary Lanes. Selected auxiliary improvements from the Highway 527 easterly to 15.3 km to Mackenzie river with culvert, grading, drainage, granular base and hot mix paving work. The work required resurfacing Highway 11/17 from 0.1 km east of Highway 527 junction easterly for 15.5 km, including; east bound passing lane extension on Highway 11/17 from 2.3 km east of Highway 527 easterly for 0.3 km; west bound truck climbing lane on Highway 11/17 from 2.9 km east of Highway 527 easterly for 2.7 km; east bound passing lane on Highway 11/17 from 10.0 km east of Highway 527 easterly for 2.0 km; left turn lane on Highway 11/17 from MacKenzie river culvert westerly for 0.8 km; and a culvert replacement on Highway 11/17 5.2 km east of MacKenzie river. This additionally included providing the Ministry the HDS design, quantity calculations, geotechnical, archaeological, and environmental investigations, preparation of the contract documents for tendering. This work totaled 15.5 km of road in the Thunder Bay District.
